NZCSPL Rulebook
New Zealand Counter-Strike Premier League — Season 1
1.General Information
These rules apply to all players, teams, and staff participating in NZCSPL events, including Open Qualifiers and the main Premier League. Organised by NZCSPL.
All matches use the latest official version of Counter-Strike 2 on Steam. Unofficial modifications are prohibited.
The official language is English.
All participants must join the official NZCSPL Discord server.
Teams must remain unchanged after registration closes unless approved by admins. Excessive changes may lead to disqualification.
2.Team & Player Requirements
Open to New Zealand residents (exceptions may be approved).
Minimum 16 years old. Players under 18 require parental/guardian consent.
Each team consists of 5 starting players + maximum 3 substitutes.
Substitutions are only allowed between maps or in emergencies with admin approval.
3.Tournament Format
- • Two separate one-day qualifier tournaments.
- • Top 4 teams from each qualifier advance to the Premier League (8 teams total).
- • Format: To be announced per qualifier (typically Swiss or single elimination).
- • 8 teams in a single round-robin.
- • Sunday matches.
- • Top teams advance to playoffs and Grand Final (details to be confirmed).
4.Match Format & Settings
- • Mode: Competitive (5v5)
- • Round time: 1:55
- • Freeze time: 15 seconds
- • Starting money: $800
- • Bomb timer: 40 seconds
- • Max rounds: 24 (first to 13)
- • Overtime: MR6 (first to 4), $10,000 starting money

- • Nuke
- • Cache
BO1: Random or admin decided. BO3: Standard pick/ban system (ban-ban-pick-pick-ban-ban).
5.Match Procedures
Knife round or automated tool to decide sides.
Each team gets limited pauses per match (details per event).
6.Conduct & Penalties
• Zero tolerance for cheating, toxicity, hate speech, match-fixing, or exploits.
• Penalties range from warnings and round losses to disqualification and bans.
• All participants must follow the NZ Esports Code of Conduct.
7.Final Authority
• NZCSPL admins and referees have final say on all matters. Rules may be updated with notice for fairness.
• Participation in any NZCSPL event means full acceptance of these rules.
